The collaboration between graduate schools at Stanford is pretty unique. Stanford has a top-notch engineering school and design school, and both of those collaborate frequently with the GSB to create unique classes and experiences that help people start real businesses. The Simulation method used in classrooms adds to the real life exposure factor in the curriculum. The significantly smaller student body at Stanford (800 vs. Harvard’s 1800) suggests that there is greater intimacy, collaboration and bonding.

At Fuqua, the teaching process is broken down into three categories-

  1.  Case Studies – which are real and imperfect examples of corporate challenges that give you the opportunity to see theory put into practice.

  2.  Strategic Games – which involve interaction with multiple decision makers (or players) whose decisions affect each other. Many games share fundamental characteristics, and you are taught to recognize the patterns and understand the basic nature of games.
